Long referred to as the greatest city in the world, New York City does not fare particularly well in a new report from the Milken Institute.
The Milken Institute/Greenstreet Real Estate Partners Best Performing Cities Index ranks U.S. metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth. The components include job, wage and salary and technology growth. Seems like another argument for ARIA, and the need to create a vibrant information infrastructure here in the Empire State.
In the report the Big Apple ranked 85th among American cities. The Ithaca area lead New York by pulling in a ranking of 64th among the small metropolitan areas. The full index of New York state is here.
