What wonderful news to find out that the Higher Education Commission, in its the Preliminary Report (p. 21), recommends that “the State invest $15 million to facilitate college and university libraries moving from individual library licenses to state-wide shared licenses” . It is clear to me that the recommendation is based upon the sound conclusions presented in the NYSHEI white paper and the testimony given at the hearings by representatives of NYSHEI. Now we must continue to persuade the legislators that this action is important and vital for NYS public and private universities and colleges and for regional and economic development.
